Finally! A New Tool Made Just for Wrestling Officials
Oct 31st, 2024It is not often that wrestling officials have access to a new tool for matches. A company called Discbands first made an alternate possesion wristband for basketball officials. They have now applied that design to the needs of wrestling officials. Introducing, the Discband Wrestling Officials Alternate Choice Red and Green Wristbands.
It is essentially a 2-in-1 product. You still have your red and green wristbands you use to award points. With the discs attached to the wristbands, you can now also keep important match & participant information.
The first period of the match starts with both wrestlers standing. At the end of the first period, the official determines which wrestler gets to choose how to start the second period. The athletes wear colored ankle bands to help the official and scorers identify athletes. The official flips a red & green flip disk, and the wrestler with the winning color gets the choice.
As the Match Official, you can now place the opposite disc color of winning athelte on the Discband in the up position and secure it into the wristband pocket.
Kudos to Discbands company for providing a new product just for wrestling officials!
