When Fox 40 came out with the CMG, there has been no turning back. Some camps will give you a whistle and if it does not have the CMG, I give it away! Only whistle I use!

Everyone above is correct. It’s a Fox 40 so...it’s a top shelf whistle but, the black on black is really nice. Often the white mouth guard gets a used and shabby look. The cushioned mouth guard is a must for those of us who bite down hard.

The black CMG sets this apart!! I could only find ones with the clear/white cushioned part of the whistle. Just never looked right, UNTIL I found this Fox 40 all black!! Nice touch and looks official.

A Fox 40 Classic Referee Whistle is a classic. Not much else you can say as the standard of quality is high and does what a whistle does. The mouth guard is a personal choice and after biting through a few whistles, the guard works well.

The classic cushioned Fox 40 has always been a good whistle but I purchased this one for the new whistle holder for COVID and it fits perfectly.

Absolutely love the Fox 40! Personally, I cannot have a whistle without the grip as it eases the tension on my jaw during long tournaments.

The rubber on the mouthpiece wears too easily.

Can never go wrong with a Fox 40. I still have my first one from 1996. If you don't get the cushion, you're obviously doing it wrong.

As a new official it did exactly what I needed. Maybe slightly bigger for my mouth than desired but not to the point that it's an issue. Nice whistle.

Same sound as the classic Fox 40. The rubber protector potentially makes if more comfortable and gives more gripping power. However, it makes it bigger also. It's a matter of trade offs. I would stick with the regular model.

I'm really pleased with this item! I've always used a plain whistle and when I saw this I thought to give it a try. It's a great price and I won't go back to a regular whistle now! Really like the padded mouth area on it. Only got it a couple weeks ago but I haven't had any problems with it and recommend others to try it!
