I highly recommend these pads for most umpire mask frames. The larger lower pad offers more protection. The pad material is good in all weather (rain, cold, heat, etc.). Plus, they come in several colors to complement your uniform of the day.

The thicker pads give added protection to my head from pitches that less experience catchers don't stop. It gives me the confidence not to flinch and keep my head in the slot, knowing the pads will absorb the blow to my mask.
