Recognizing Our Veteran Owned Umpire Apparel Brands
Nov 11th, 2024On this Veterans Day, join us in recognizing our brands who are veteran-owned! Service in the military can open doors and teach many lessons. We are proud to offer these brands in which their creators were shaped by their time in the military.
Paul Allmon, US Army, Lt Colonel (25 years) Plate-Pro
The innovative shirt stays were designed and created by Umpire Paul Allmon. Paul served 25 years in the Army. When asked how his time in the military affected him as a entrepenuar, he said;
"The shirt stays were a product of my service. You always want to look your best in uniform and the products available didn’t meet my standards or expectations. In the military you are taught to solve problems as a matter of daily work. So when I identified the problem I figured out a solution. Now, I have been able, through Plate Pro, to have a positive impact on umpires around the world in looking their best behind the dish."
Tim O'Day, US Army E4 Mechanic ('91-'95) ThighPro
The protective advancement in under apparel was created and brought to the market for umpires by fellow umpire Tim O'Day. Tim said about how his time in the Army affected ThighPro he said;
"Being able to make products in the USA has been something ThighPro has strived to do."
Thank you to all Veterans and Active Duty for your service to our beloved country. Please enjoy this day!
