ThighPro Protective Umpire Compression Shorts - Gray

Thigh pro material appears to be of good quality. Hopefully, that remains after several washings. The girth/crotch is too short!!! At least 2 to 4 inches of material added to the backside in order for the pants to stay up, especially when bending over. I also agree that the padding could be 1/4 inch thicker and wrap further into the inside of the thigh.

Love the feel of these. I feel more comfortable behind the plate knowing I have some protection on my inner thighs. Unlike some of the other reviews, I have not noticed any slippage of the waistband, either behind the plate or in the field. I sized them according my jeans size and have had no issues.

Very nice to have added protection. The waist needs improvement to fit more snug.

Sizing is good, easy to move, cup pocket is comfortable. Good supplemental protection. Would love to see these available in full-length tights. Worth the investment.

A high quality item with protection to the inner thighs, as described. I do see some slippage at the waistline during the game, but the lower garment doesn’t shift, so the protection remains throughout the game - a little annoying however. I believed if there was more length from the inseam to the waist the issue would be resolved. Nonetheless, I would still recommend.

Waistband can fall down some throughout a game, but comfortable to wear and offers an extra bit of protection you otherwise would not have. The one hit I have taken with these so far was a noticeable difference compared to no protection.

These are great shorts. I have taken a few hits and the padding they offer has helped my legs.

Overall, these are great shorts, but they do need some refinement. Materials and construction are top notch and the padding does make a difference (I have taken multiple shots so far in fall ball). My issue is with the length of the shorts. I ordered an XL as I'm 6'1 with a 34" inseam and 36" waist and the legs hang down past my knees, rendering the lower elastic useless. In fact, these shorts are so long they dangle out from under the shorts I wear to/from games. It's a good thing I don't wear jean shorts; otherwise, I'd be feeling like an early '90s Andre Agassi. My advice to the makers is to bring the inseam up 2-3 inches. There's no reason for these shorts to be much longer than the padding. Looking at high-end cycling shorts would be a great place to look for some design inspiration.

Provides pretty good protection on the inner thigh. Glad I purchased. The waist does "slip" down a little, but I think I should have just bought a size smaller.

These are great. I previously wore the McDavid ones that were similar to these but they wore out. McDavid discontinued making them. For several years no one stepped up to make a similar product. I am so glad that these ThighPro shorts are available. I purchased a pair and recommend these for all umpires to wear. Great protection. As we all know, the ball eventually finds us!

I will be getting more of these and would have given 5 stars but the padding should wrap further on the inner thigh. As an ump, I have taken more shots to the inner thigh than the tops of my thighs. And they are a good start, but these should also be available in full-length tights as well. I find that I have to wear a second set of tights in order to create a barrier between my skin and leg guards in order to prevent chafing. Otherwise, a very good product and offers me, as an umpire, additional confidence and protection when behind the plate.

I will use this when umpiring baseball.

Exactly what I needed. So tired of the deep bruises that I’m getting on my inner thigh because of my wide stance. I took a shot last week and these things totally performed as advertised. Totally worth it.

They are one of the best investment I’ve ever made. I am very well protected in the thigh area. I would recommend them to all umpires.

Very comfortable fit & I like the thigh padding for protection.

I love my new ThighPro's. They fit perfectly and are very comfortable. My cup slides right into the pocket and I feel more protected. I’ve been telling all my umpire brothers about them and all the catchers I’ve worked with since I purchased them.

They will serve the purpose of protecting my thighs; although, I wish the padding was 1/8” to 1/4” thicker. Also, they’d be better if they were a bit longer from the crotch to the waistline. I really have to “hike” them up to get them to stay, but they do stay in place.

I like the concept but, poor execution. The waistband is weak, the band at the bottom of the legs is strong and as you move, it pulls the shorts down. Also, because the waistband is weak, it allows the cup to pull away from the body. As for the cup holder: it doesn't secure the cup in place. Too much movement will result in exposure or pinching of the goods. Finally, as you squat, the cup pulls forward leaving you exposed to everyone's favorite foul ball in the dirt on the inside pitch coming up and finding the undercarriage exposed. I was hoping to find that padding that protects the inner thigh and cup holder in one package but unfortunately, this isn't the solution.
