Martin H. Tucson, AZ |
This is my favorite pair of shin guards. Very lightweight and fit very comfortably.
Brian H. Endicott, NY |
For being a little heavier than my last pair, they are comfortable and breathable.
Andy Ohio |
These are really low profile and light. I'm glad they designed the ankle plates differently from the last model.
Terry W. Stony Point, NC |
Great fit and very comfortable.
Christopher A. Lititz, PA |
Best shin guards, hands down!
Ken S. New Washoe City, NV |
I bought the Force3 shin guards. I ordered the 18.5 inch set and they are a little short for me. I am 6'4" tall. I like the inside as they give you more protection when you get it. Overall, fairly good product.
Chris R. Winkler, MB Canada |
Most comfortable umpire shin guards I've owned! Fit great and don't feel hot, even through a tournament weekend. Great protection and low profile under the pants.
Todd H. Tucson, AZ |
Best set of shin guards I have ever spent money on. Very comfortable and I have been hit a few times and felt absolutely nothing. These will be your one and only pair you'll ever need.
Chris Suwanee, GA |
Must need shin guards. Invest in these as they are the best shin guards in the game. I got a size bigger and the clips do not cut into my skin. I highly recommend this product. Spend the money on these, it’s well worth it.
Samuel R. Mount Laurel, NJ |
These are the best! Light weight and low profile under your pants. The plastic clips are easy to put on and take off. Also, they don't slide around they fit like a glove; you don't even notice them when running. I am 5'8 and wear a 14.5.
Jason M. Calhoun, GA |
Purchased these to replace my Wilsons. Had heard they were the best shin guard in the game and had been wearing them a few weeks with no issues. Took a couple shots on the shin and felt nothing until yesterday. I took 84 off the knee cap of the shin guard and these definitely let me down. It failed me and buckled me and knocked me out the rest of the day and got me carted back to the locker room. Definitely would NOT recommend these, and yes, they were worn properly and fitted properly. Either a defective guard or just not as solid on the knee cap as the shin. Will be switching back to the Wilsons.
Brian L. Springfield, MO |
These shin guards are great. I have taken a few hits and you feel nothing. They are very comfortable and not bulky.
Leno B. Green Valley, AZ |
These are the most comfortable shin guards I’ve ever had. Very lightweight and the buckles are excellent.
Jerry B. Ball, LA |
I needed a new pair and decided to buy these. The quality and comfort are amazing. No need to look any further.
Jeremy P. Grovetown, GA |
These shin guards are top of the line. Great fit, great protection. The protection is such that you don’t feel the impact of a baseball. A very valuable investment for anyone working higher competition levels of baseball. I also highly recommend reviewing the video of “how to measure your legs for shin guards”.
Johnny R. Lagrange, GA |
Lightweight and form-fitting. I have used these now 2-3 games behind the plate and absolutely love them!
J Conrad L. Goshen, IN |
Great fit and protection.
Martin R. Livermore, CA |
Great fit and very comfortable.
David T. Hoover, AL |
The 18.5" are still not tall enough for me. I would like to see them add the adjustable double or triple knee, like some of their competitors have. I will make the switch as soon as they cover my entire knee. I need the plastic buckles that don't rust.
Renaldo C. Bristol, RI |
Great fit & comfort.
John S. Summerdale, AL |
Absolutely worth every penny! Lightweight, strong, great mobility, and comfortable.
Sheila B. Humacao, PR |
Excellent!!!
Dwayne O. Grand Prairie, TX |
The Force3 shin guards are simply the best on the market, IMO. They are light, comfortable and provide the best protection for me. I couldn't recommend them any higher.
Megan B. Rochester, NY |
These shin guards are the best umpiring purchase I’ve made. They are very comfortable and don’t rub which is great for my sensitive skin. I took a fastball from a 16 year old and didn’t feel a thing.
Alan S. Morris, CT |
Wow! Comfortable and a great purchase. A vast improvement from my very old shin guards. Didn’t even feel getting hit.
Eddie D. Mosheim, TN |
Comfortable shin guards that can take a good shot and never feel it.
Troy T. Danville, IL |
Great shin guards, the best I've owned.
Matt B. Gladstone, OR |
I’m 5'8”, got the 14.5 size, and fit and feel great! These leg guards stay in place and don’t rotate around your leg as the game goes on. I use these for high school baseball.
Lee M. Darlington, SC |
Great protection. I love them.
Nicholas E. Tucson, AZ |
Absolutely love them.
Anthony L. Berlin, CT |
Very durable and comfortable umpire shin guards. Well worth the money. I love the plastic clips instead of the metal hooks. No rusting and easy on easy off.
John D. Oxnard, CA |
Excellent product! Very light compared to my Wilson's. I had my old pair for over eight years! Furthermore, putting on the shin guards is a cinch; do not have to take more than five minutes for adjustment. Also purchased the UMPLIFE shin supports as a backup; I do not need them. These are very comfortable still with the "stock" gear.
Kenneth S. Hockley, TX |
Well worth the money, lightweight, durable, plastic clips instead of metal (won't rust). Very comfortable.
Allen A. Elko, NV |
These shin guards are lightweight, comfortable, and protects well.
Tim O. Nashville, TN |
Having worn the WV Pro Gold shins for the past 6 or 7 years, all I can say is wow. The Force3 Shin Guards are light and very fitted. I am sure they will improve my 45' time!!
Mike B. Madisonville, KY |
Really comfortable umpire shin guards. Durable and very protective. I don't see myself wearing any other ever again. I will soon be starting my 47th year of officiating baseball and softball and I have worn many shin guards and these are the BEST.
Brian T. Buda, TX |
Wore my original pair about 100 plate games per year and they're finally worn out. Always thought the small ankle protection was lacking. These improved shin guards are awesome. Same comfort and fit with better protection.
Daniel B. Chico, CA |
Shin guards fit great with mid-cut base shoe. Very comfortable, very light weight. Easy & plenty of protection for upper Division Baseball! I’m very happy with them!
Jose P. San Diego, CA |
Have used them once and they are really comfortable. Better than my old Wilson shin guards. Super light, sometimes I don’t even know that I have them on. A+ product. Thanks.
Perry A. St. Charles, MO |
I've been hanging onto an older pair of diamond shin guards for probably 15 years. I had taken a few shots that made me go oooh! But never wanted to spend the $$. Then finally, a few weeks ago I took a legit direct hit foul ball, I think to my left knee (which I had replaced a couple of years ago). So I saw Force 3, but the price was a bit high but I took the dive anyway. After using them for 3 weeks...what took me so long. Comfortable, the straps don't dig, the fit is fantastic, and the protection is top-notch!
Kelly M. Wahpeton, ND |
I have had a pair of these for about 5 years, and I really have liked them a lot, but now they've come out with a hard plastic ankle protector on the newer model. I like this feature greatly. I have taken some shots to the ankles while wearing my older pair, and they have protected me ok, but the newer leg guards give me even greater protection! 5 STARS!
Ryan M. Aledo, IL |
I love mine. Light as a feather and I hardly feel them on my shins behind the plate. Once again, Force3 doesn’t disappoint.
Mike D. Torrance, CA |
I had the original Force3 umpire shin guards and love them, but had always wished the ankle protection was better- more like the Wilson hard shell. I loved the low profile wrap around feel of my Force3's and they reminded me of the protection of hockey referee shin guards I had used but were bulky. I had toyed with the idea of modifying my original Force3 around the ankle, and then I saw the new design. Exactly what I was looking for! I now feel like I have the best possible umpire shin guard available. I have yet to use them in a game yet as I just received them, but I have adjusted them and I’m ready to go. I’m 6 ft and the 16.5 fit me great. Looking forward to giving them a try.
Benjamin D. Minnesota |
It took a long time to get these as there were out of stock for the longest time. However, it was 100% worth the wait!!! I have used a set of Honigs for many years but the bottoms by the ankle wore out and needed a replacement. This is it. These are extremely comfortable, fit perfect (I am 6' 0", bought the 16.5"), and have taken a dozen shots of of various parts of both legs in the last 2 months. These are fantastic and absolutely worth the price for the protection and quality provided. Excellent product!!
Neal B. Roseville, CA |
Comfortable, breathable, and after several shots to the shins I’ve never felt a thing. These are perfect.
Bernie C. CARY, NC |
I was nervous about changing to a new shin guard, but everything about these has been outstanding. They are light, easy to run in, and very well constructed. This weekend I took my first real shot in them - A straight fastball from a NCAA D1 pitcher that the batter missed and the catcher missed. The ball came off my knee so hard that the first baseman fielded it and stepped on first. Other than the force of the pitch pushing my knee back, I didn’t feel a thing. No pain afterwards. No bruising. 5 stars.
Jayden M. Charlottetown, PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND |
I love these shin guards. These feel great and keep decently cool. After a few shots you don't feel them.
Erich K. Gaston, OR |
These umpire shin guards are great! Combined with the UMPLIFE harness, they are incredibly comfortable and protect VERY well. I've not had a hit with them that I've more than barely felt. They DO stick up over the knee quite a bit (particularly for someone with small legs like me perhaps?), which can make getting combo pants over them take a bit more care and sit funny, but I got used to that almost immediately.
Garret Southern California |
A far superior umpire shin guard to anything currently on the market. They are light-weight and provide full and complete protection. The look and feel of these guards, coupled with materials used, makes this protective equipment a must buy for anyone concerned about comfort, protection and quality.
Gabe S. New Hampshire |
Bought a 2nd pair of these as back up. Have not really needed them but my 1st pair replaced a cheap starter pack pair of another brands that I took a shot wearing that left me with a bad charley horse in that calve. These though I never feel it. Whack! Oh blue you okay? I am fine never felt it!. Love these shin guards to me they are the Cadillac of shin guards Comfy and built like a tank.
Curtis L M. Bow, NH |
Love these shin guards! Light yet I don't feel anything when hit. Love snaps instead of metal hooks. Only issue is pants can get caught in top, once in a while. Tip on this site to move interior pad up reduces times pants get caught, really helps! Removable pads hold up to washings, so far.
Mike B. Chapmanville, WV |
Lightweight, extremely comfortable, and offers great protection!! I do recommend to move the interior pads up just above the top so they don’t snag your pants. Love these shins!!
Jay New York |
Glad I waited to get these instead. Covers any glances off the top. Kevlar lining...I'm Superman.
Ryan S. Lowell, AR |
I initially had trouble with them riding up my knee, but once I loosened the bottom straps slightly, they are amazing! Fit is great, slim profile, comfortable, and take a hit well!
Michael B. Fort Lauderdale, FL |
These shin guards are amazing. Well worth the money. Easy to get on and off. Very comfortable. Provides great protection. Great support to legs and knees.
Matthew C. Myrtle Beach, SC |
Best umpire shin guards I have ever worn. They are so light it feels like they're not even on. I haven't felt any pitches I have taken off them yet. They're extremely comfortable. They don't bunch up my pants. Just do yourself a favor and buy them. I ordered the 16.5" and they're perfect for me at 6'2".
Arnold C. Weslaco, TX |
After using the Wilson shin guards for 6 years, I decided to give the Force3 shin guards a try. First game I used them, a 90mph fastball missed all the padding and left me a nice little bruise on the inside of my right knee. I have never been hit like that prior. The only thing I would change is maybe add some extra padding to the sides for us bigger guys with bigger legs. Pros - lightweight, breathable. Cons - not enough padding on sides.
Jason G. Clearwater, FL |
Love these umpire shin guards. They are light, comfortable, and provide excellent coverage areas for protection.
Hoss M. Eutaw, AL |
Best shin guards on the market. The lightweight and slim design is the way to go!!!!
Rick A. Glen Burnie, MD |
Love them. Best shin guards I have used. No rust and easy to clean.
Steve M. Torrance, CA |
Have been looking for replacements for old shin guards and everything I read pointed to the Force3. I finally broke down and bought them and they have been terrific. Very comfortable and seem to be quite protective. I would recommend them to anyone that asks!
Jesus S. Maricopa, CA |
I bought the Force3 umpire shin guards. When I got them I didn't know how I would like them. I used them over the weekend. They where so comfortable and light. I couldn't even feel I had them on. I just have to say thanks to Ty for talking about them. I would recommend them to anyone who enjoys umpiring.
Mike F. Middletown, CT |
Fellow umpire suggested these umpire shin guards and I'm extremely happy. Was a little concerned about the 4 straps, but to be honest, I don't even feel like I'm wearing guards. Very light, no issues coming out from behind the plate even in the late innings. Highly recommend them. Have used them for games up to 19U level.
Kevin A. Windsor, CA |
Almost a perfect umpire shin guard. I have worn them for years. Just purchased my second pair this season. I added the Umplife harnesses and now they are ridiculously comfortable. A significant upgrade from the Wilson Platinum shins I started out with. And the removable, washable, inside pad is really convenient.
Dave M. New Fairfield, CT |
I just worked 7 games in two days. Foul balls pounded my shins and I didn't even blink. My old shin guards would have let some of these shots sting, but I felt nothing. The ankle guard saved me twice. Slim fit and light weight so moving out from behind the plate is very, very easy. The removable inserts are really good for the sake of repositioning. The knee hinge is excellent, and keeps you from running "straight legged". Great look under Combo umpire pants so you don't look you've got them on. Excellent value for the $119.00. I don't see me needing another pair of umpire shin guards ever.
Michael P. Las Vegas, NV |
The only umpire shins I have ever worn were Wilson West Vest Pros, and I have always thought they were unnecessarily bulky. Now that I have used the Force3 umpire shin guards, I know that you don’t have to have bulky heavy shin guards for the ultimate protection behind the plate. It’s so much easier to move and be in position to help your partner. I do agree with moving the padding up slightly to avoid your pants being caught when you come out of your crouch. Buy these shin guards!
Kevin R. Costa Mesa, CA |
2nd set of these that I have purchased. I gifted my 1st pair to my teen aged son who is starting out. Not much more I can say than I chose them again and purchased a second set. They are the best, period.
Joseph P. Lynnfield, MA |
These umpire shin guards are awesome! You can remove the inner padding for machine washing or to adjust the height of the padding. Super light weight but extremely strong protection. Forms and molds to your leg to give great side protection. Super comfortable.
Joe Iglio North Babylon, NY |
Sleek, protective, light-weight & comfortable. Changed over from Wilson Platinums. I loved the protection form the Wilson’s, but wanted more lightweight shin guards with the same protection. Some of the other shin guards I tried, like the All-Star Cobalt, those were too right around my ankles. Only suggestion I have that seems to be of popular opinion, is to buy a size smaller. By measurement I was a 16.5 but those actually went well above my knees because I wear mid plate shoes. 14.5 are absolutely perfect. I am a huge fan of the buckles as well.
Greg H. Malvern, AR |
Best umpire shin guards I’ve owned. You take some shots in college baseball at times, but with these umpire shin guards you barely notice. Well worth the purchase.
Greg S. Charlotte, NC |
I don’t have much else to add than what others have already said but I agree with the general consensus that these are excellent umpire shin guards. Very light and very comfortable! I’m 5’11 and bought the 14.5 size and they go perfectly with my New Balance mu460v3 plate umpire shoes. Very much worth the investment.
Rich S. St Albans, VT |
These are by far, the most comfortable umpire shin guards I have worn. The stretch straps and click buckle are unique and easy to use. Thank you Ump-Attire.com for another quality product.
Shawn M. Severance, CO |
Best umpire shin guards I have had. They are so comfortable and the buckles prevent rust. These are the best.
Gregory M. Dayton, OH |
Picked up a pair of these Force 3 Ultimate umpire shin guards as I had been seriously considering retiring my Wilson West Vest Golds due to their bulkiness and weight. These umpire shin guards were the perfect selection. They’re definitely lighter and possess a lower profile which is a great feature. Padding is comfortable and the plastic buckle style clips are superior to the traditional hook style on the Wilson West Vest Golds. Definitely worth the investment!
Phil C. Palm Harbor, FL |
Best shin guards for the money. Love the detachable pads, easy to wash and keep clean. The plastic clips are durable, don't rust as others metal ones have in the Florida humidity. Protection, value, and coverage factors are superior to other shin guards I've worn.
Robert M. Seymour, CT |
Awesome quality and very comfortable. Force 3 is at the top of the umpire equipment game. I prefer the plastic clips to the metal on other brands, no rust to worry about. If you wear mid-cut umpire plate shoes, go to the next lower size. I measured myself at 16", but the 14.5" set of shin guards were a much better fit.
John M. Elbert, CO |
According to the measurements, I should have worn the 16 1/2" set, but when I tried them on they were WAAAAAY too tall. They were fine while standing, but whenever I got into my set position as I do behind the plate, they pulled up and had an ungainly-looking 3" extension above my knee. It looked really weird. I opted to try the 14 1/2" pair, which are advertised as the SHORTEST available for baseball umpires, which is weird, because I'm, 5' 10", but these seem to fit fine. The video and some reviews mentioned how the pants tend to get stuck behind them, and that happened to me. As suggested, I moved the inner padding up an inch and it seems to have alleviated the problem. I do like the clips versus traditional buckles. They are very light and form-fitting so I think they will be great behind the plate.
Archer F. Cypress, Tx |
These are the lightest umpire shin guards around and are extremely comfortable. You almost forget you're wearing them.
Hiram R. Dundee, FL |
The first word I said when I saw these shin guards was Waooo looks great. When I put them in my shins was Waooo Waoo Waooo. These are the best shin guards ever. Very light weight and you will not feel them during the game. Great product!!
Charles S. Lehigh Acres, FL |
BEST SHINS ON THE MARKET HANDS DOWN! This is the 3rd set I've bought from Ump-Attire.com. Lightweight, nice and snug, easy to clean, and Ray Brownlie's shin guard harness completes these shins. I will not go to any other shin guard!!!
Robert S. Abingdon, MD |
Recently purchased a pair of these shin guards and had the opportunity to recently wear them on the field. WOW was I impressed!!! I could not believe how light they were and there was no bulkiness around the knee like a few other brands that I have worn. I almost forgot I was wearing them on the field. These will be my choice of shin guards when I need a replacement set! They should be your choice as well.
Jeff R. New Hampshire |
Not much to add other than what others have already said - very light, give great protection, easy to clip in and out of. Ventilation may not be a strength but definitely not a weakness. Couldn't be happier I got a pair.
Michael George S. Salem, OR |
I've been using these umpire shin guards since the 1st year they came out, and still give mine 5 stars. They are lightweight, hug your legs, are very easy to run in, I have never felt an impact (and I've taken some hard ones), I love the snap clips (vs. metal hooks that rust on the Wilsons), and they are fairly easy to clean. Other shin guards used: Wilson Platinum and Wilson Gold Pro. These are vastly superior in almost every way, except if you really want a metatarsal plate or an extra plate above your knee. I highly recommend these shin guards to anyone, working any level of ball.
Scott S. Havre, MT |
I just got these and have worn them for several games. They are much more comfortable than my old pro 9 shin guards, and the padding is great.
Debbie P. Atlantic Beach, FL |
A MAJOR upgrade from my previous Diamond shin guards. These are light weight and extremely comfortable. They are by far the best option on the market when it comes to shin guards. Extremely pleased.
Greg E. MD |
Love these umpire shin guards. These are my second set. Very durable and breathable when working on the hot turf.
Larry K. Encino, CA |
I bought these to replace my Wilson shin guards. I am very pleased so far after 4 games. They are more comfortable, and I like the quality better than the Wilson shin guards. I recommend these very much.
Patrick I. Phoenix, NY |
I have trouble with sizing. My old shin guards were size 15. I am 5'6" and I finally settled with the fit of the 14.5. They fit well with my mid-cut or low-cut plate shoes and offer proper coverage for my knees. They are light, comfortable, and protective. I am looking forward to wearing them for the 2020 HS baseball season. The best equipment with a great company!
Keith Columbus, OH |
The news is out! Force3 makes the lightest, most comfortable shin guards on the market! If you don't believe me, then listen to your peers. I know more guys wearing these than any other shin guard today. I've had Douglas, Diamond and Davis shin guards and they all got the job done - but the F3 is more comfortable than them all. They feel lighter to wear and can take a beating without you feeling a thing! Spend the money and buy the best gear you can afford - you'll save money in the long run instead of buying cheap gear to start then replacing it after a couple of years.
Ethan M. Vancouver, BC |
Great shin guards, feel very strong yet light. My only complaints are that the snap buckles they use are harder to get off than the classic metal hooks. Also, the top of the shin guards tend to catch my pants. Thanks to the customer service rep at Ump-Attire.com, I learned that if you raise the adjustable pads to have a bit above the top of the shin guards, the problem is mostly alleviated.
Billy T. Katy, TX |
I purchased the Force3 Shin Guards for my son before going to the MiLB Academy. He is describing how light they are but strong at the same time. He put them on and great fit.
Sal A. Haverstraw, NY |
Prior to last season, I bought a pair of Wilson umpire shin guards and although they provided terrific protection, I found them to be a bit bulky and a little unconformable. After speaking with a couple of friend I decided to buy a pair of Force 3 umpire shin guards and have found them to be just as protective with less bulkiness and more comfort. Great shin guards!
Jason H. Oklahoma |
The most comfortable umpire shin guards I have owned.
David W. Tustin, CA |
Amazing umpire shin guards! Fit great under plate and combo pants! Took a shot first game and felt nothing! After using Douglas for the last 3 years, I am now SOLD on Force3 shin guards! Great Investment!
Aaron L. Roseau, MN |
I recently ordered the Force3 umpire shin guards for tournament play in our community, Legion and Babe Ruth. First pitch of the game I took a foul ball to the shin area. Didn't even feel the impact. The size 16.5" worked great under my combo pants. Great mobility in them.
Richard C. Norwalk, CA |
The best shin guards I have ever owned. The one and only hit to these was on a wild pitch and I never felt a thing.
Brooke S. Spring, TX |
I ordered the 16.5" as my current guards are 16-17. These were a little long but the next size down was 2" shorter which would be too short. I am not a huge fan of the plastic buckles as I prefer the metal hooks. Just easier to get on and off IMO. The biggest concern I had was the ankle protection. The round ankle protection was too far back and left my ankle bone expose and only protected by the liner. Just did not work out for me.
David B. Alabama |
Very lightweight and comfortable. Unfortunately, I returned them as the knee cap sticks straight up when you get in the slot. I sized them correctly, but they did not work for me. This is a great product, it just doesn't fit my body. I could have dropped down to the 14.5, but it would have left gaps in protection. If they did fit me, I would have enjoyed them. Perhaps a design change is in the works.
Keith A. Round Rock, TX |
After putting these shin guards on, I will never wear anything else. Perfect fit, great protection, low profile and can take a direct shot without me feeling a thing. Force3 is definitely on the cutting edge with this product.
Keith S. Hellertown, PA |
Love the fit, weight, breath-ability, and the buckles. Haven't taken a ball off them yet, but they feel great!
Edward Z. East Englewood, FL |
Force3 Umpire Shin Guards are great! They fit well, and are very comfortable along with being lightweight. In addition, they look good under your plate pants, not a bulky, but clean professional look. If you get hit, you shouldn't feel a thing!
Jerry T. Allen, TX |
I love these umpire shin guards! I have only had one other pair which was old, bad quality, and resulted in bruises when I'd get hit in high school games. These Force3 shin guards are light, thin, and protect me from high school pitchers with no bruises! This was a great purchase.
Joe M. Clifton Park, NY |
Very nice product. Fits well. Nice and light to move around. Adequate protection.
Brandon NC |
These Force3 umpire shin guards are worth every penny! Lightweight, durable, and the snap buckles make for a secure, tight fit. Best shin guards I have owned!
Duncan M. Palm Bay, FL |
Quite possibly the best leg/shin guards on the market. Lightweight, but you still can't feel a thing when you take a shot to the leg. The sizing/fit is true: middle of the knee to top of your ankle/plate shoes with no gap. I am 6'4 and require 18.5 leg guards - sizing was perfect. DEFINITELY worth spending the extra money to get a pair of these leg guards.
Chris M. Indianapolis, IN |
Great Force3 shin guards. Light weight. Fit well with New Balance mid-cut plate shoes.
John |
Light feeling but hard to choose a size. Could you have a video on how?
Bob J. Myrtle Beach , SC |
Very light and comfortable umpire shin guards. They fit well in my combo pants.
Adam O. Lancaster, SC |
I'm a bit shorter so the 14.5" fit great. I've used Douglas and WV gold in the past and these are much lighter with a similar level of protection.
Aaron Iowa |
Really really good shin guards. If you size properly you will struggle a bit with them pinching your pants when you come up from your crouch. They are light and sturdy. Will last longer than the Platinums.
Emmitt T. Clinton , MT |
I used to use the Wilson Gold shin guards and switched to the Force3 this year and glad I did. The Force3's are so much lighter and not as bulky and offer great protection, well worth the price.
Jason P. Belle Plaine, MN |
These Force3 shin guards are awesome so lite weight you don't even know you've got them on, another great product from a great company.
Ralph B. Victoria, BRITISH COLUMBIA |
Protection at its finest. Light weight yet after repeated fouls/missed balls I have yet to feel any pain from an impact. They fit great and work well under the Smitty Performance Poly Spandex Plate Umpire Pants. Worth every cent!
Wayne S. Clarksville, TN |
Have taken 2 or 3 off these and haven't felt any of them, fit is great, light and not too hot. The only reason I gave them 4.5 stars is the price.
Thomas J. Acworth, GA |
Force3 did a super job of making a shin guard that wrapped your legs up securely, yet allows you all the movement you need. Covers the area just over your plate shoe more than I ever had with my old +POS equipment. Great choice!!!!!
Mike H. Palmyra, MO |
I love these umpire shins with how lightweight they are and especially enjoy the plastic clips over the metal. Been hit a couple times and didn't feel much. I would probably add a little more ankle protection, but all in all very happy with them.
Ronald J. Gilbert, AZ |
Very comfortable and hugs leg for a great fit. Don't feel bulky. I love the plastic clips! Great ankle protection with my New Balance low cut plate shoes.
Dwayne R. Salina, KS |
Very protective and light weight. Great feeling without being super bulky.
Mark P. Arvada, CO |
These shin guards are very light and very comfortable with rock solid protection. I must agree with Randy M. that occasionally your pants will get hung up a bit. The top tends to open when going into your crouch. A thigh cap would have been a perfect addition to keep everything nice and flat. Still, very satisfied.
Craig J. Chapmanville , WV |
Amazingly light and don't feel a thing.
Jon E. Ankeny, IA |
I've worn the F3 shin guards for 16 games now. I gotta say...I think they're great. They're very light. I'm running very well in them to get into position from behind the plate. The fit, especially in the lower calf and ankle area, is really comfortable. I've rarely had to adjust their position mid-game unlike my old ones. I barely ever think of these shin guards while I have them on...which I think is the best endorsement you can give. The protection they provide has been great. No issues there to this point.
James N. Rochester, NY |
Shin guards are shin guards. But when it comes to comfort, these can't be beat. Worth every cent!!
Randy M. , CA |
...Ok after working 10 games this year, I'm adjusting my original 5 star rating to a 4. I'm finding that my Plate pants get hung up on the shin guards where the top of the guards open slightly when bending, and I'm constantly pulling at my pants to free them. I'm 6'3". I ordered the Douglas guards and with the double knee, the problem is gone...and I must say...the Douglas is the way to go...more money, but they are lower in profile and the extra protection is great! The ankle protection is better on the F3, but the lower profile and Douglas design work better with your pants! I would say they both are built to take a beating, but if you like the single knee, then F3 is the way to go. The F3 interior is outstanding and very comfortable...easier to clean, but I'm much happier with the Douglas as they are lower profile where the F3 is a little more bulkier. Both are great, but as I've said a million times now, the Douglas is so much nicer!!

The umpire shin guards are light and not very bulky. I like the plastic clasps instead of the old metal clips. The 18.5" guards are perfect for a tall guy like myself (6'4").
Colby H. Jacksonville, IL |
These are incredible umpire shin guards at a very reasonable price. They appear a bit bulky, at first glance, but once you've got them properly fitted and they form to your legs, you don't even notice that you're wearing them. One of my best purchases in a LONG time, highly recommended!
Chad M. Seguin, TX |
Lightweight and comfortable shin guards. Definitely worth the money.
Nunzio T. Orlando, FL |
Haven't used them in a game yet, but I'm happy with the weight and structure. They are as described.
Ryan C. O. Albion, IN |
These shin guards are light, very comfortable, durable & provide ultimate protection. Not to mention the removable pads make for easy cleaning. Well worth the money!
Gary H. Columbia, TN |
Perfect fit and very comfortable.... the removable padding easy to clean

Force3 umpire shin guards are great! Well worth the money spent! Don't let the lightness fool you. They provide great protection, and work nicely with the poly spandex umpire pants.
Tommy O. Midlothian, VA |
These are so comfortable and light. I drove home in them after a game one time because I forgot to take them off because I forgot I had them on. They protect amazingly as well.
Nicole F. Australia |
Lightweight, comfortable. Didn't feel any hits. Clips have rubbed a little bit but not an issue as I wear under clothes.
Sacha P. West Orange, NJ |
Reviews have all been dead on about these shin guards. They are light. They fit great under my pants. They are much easier to run in. The only complaint I have are the clips can be a little tough to undo. Other than that, great product.
Jeff S. Lansing, IL |
Cannot say enough good things about these shin guards. First of all, it feels like you're not even wearing them. The fit over my plate shoes is perfect. I'm 6'2" and the 18.5" fit nicely. Super light and comfortable.
Ed O. Whitman, MA |
Very comfortable and light weight. I don't even realize I'm wearing them until it's time to take them off at game's end!
Eric G. Pelican Rapids, MN |
I have tried a few different pairs of shin guards and the Force3 are second to none. They are light, provide outstanding protection, and do not move around. Well worth the price. It is also beneficial that they come in three different sizes... especially for vertically challenged umpires!
Ricky G. Summerville, SC |
Only problem with these shin guards is they can be very bulky around the knees. Other than that I love them!
Tom M. Lehigh Valley, PA |
One game in, and I can already give these shin guards my 100% endorsement. While I didn't take any shots to the legs in my season opener, they remained snug and comfortable throughout the 7 innings. I'm used to the (10-year-old pair of) Davis shins, so I don't like the strap behind my knee. No problem - I removed that strap and they were even more comfortable. I especially like the removable liner - which I'm sure I'll take out to air-dry after summer games. They fit well over the NB plate shoes, too. Solid protection from toe to thigh.
Chris B. Hammond, IN |
Great shins guards. So comfortable. No rubbing and I accidentally wore my base pants behind the plate and they fit!
Alex H. Albany, NY |
VERY comfortable, lightweight. Highly recommended. Only knock is a small one. I don't like the snap buckles but not a deal breaker.
Jose B. Fresno, CA |
So Far so good. Some getting used to but other than that they work well.
Mark D. Camden, DE |
Absolutely love these shins - after wearing them for 20+ games - I have taken a few uncaught direct hits to them - the result was not even feeling the hit - had one shot the other night that went off my shin and all the way past the dugout and I didn't feel a thing!
Anthony M. Fairl Lawn , NJ |
I have worn these Force3 shin guards for a year. I have taken many hard fouls and terrible catchers missing balls into these guards. You do not realize you are being hit. I like the clips to keep them around your legs so they don't have to be so tight to keep them in place. Well worth it.
Ken B. Chandler, AZ |
I love these shins! The way they conform to your legs makes it feel like you're not wearing anything. At the same time the protection is top notch. The removable pads make them easy to keep clean if you work a lot. I've had a bunch of different shins and these really are a step forward. I have not taken a shot to the outside of the ankle where the protection seems less bulky than other shins.

A: | The 3-prong Tifco buckles of the harness straps are made of strong molded plastic. This plastic breaking is very uncommon. However, replacement buckles can be found here. – Palmer ThompsonCustomer Service Specialist, Football Official |
Q: | Any recommendations on how to clean these shin guards? – Chandler Hodges |
A: | The interior padding is removable and can be machine washed. For the body of the shin guards, treat the cleaning like a car wash. Rinse, soapy water and a scrub brush all over, rinse, and hang dry. In between series or games, spraying lightly with a sprayable disinfectant. – Hunter FrySupplier Relationship Manager, Customer Service Specialist, Former Basketball Referee |
Q: | I am a baseball/softball ump in Yellville, AR. I am looking at the Force 3 shin guards. My measurement from top of ankle to middle of knee is 14.5-15 inches. I wear mid-cut plate shoes, so would I need the 14.5 inch guard or the 16.5 guard??
I am also going to order asap and want the next day air as I would like to have them for my game tomorrow. Will they arrive by 3:00 tomorrow? – Garrett Ramsey |
A: | With a measurement of 14.5 - 15 inches, the 14.5 shin guards should be your next shin guards. Better to get closer to your measurement, than to overshoot it and have shin guards that are too long and uncomfortable. UPS Next Day Air generally arrives by 12N, however, we cannot guarantee this time, only the date. – Sherie SandiferOffice/Service Manager |
Q: | I am 5’1 and struggle with shin guards being way too high up. Would these work for me? My other shin guards go mid-thigh sometimes higher. – Mindy Witt |
A: | To find the proper size shin guard, please take the measurement from the center of your knee cap down to where the shin guards will rest on your plate shoes. The 14.5-inch shin guards will probably be the best fit, close without going over. See our Fitting Room and this Crew How-To for more info! – Ty UnthankMarketing Specialist, HS & College Umpire |
Q: | What size would you recommend for someone who is 5'9" to 5'10"? – Adam Bergman |
A: | Please see our Fitting Room to find the proper sizing by measuring the distance from your ankle to knee cap. – Brandon LawsonSupport Specialist, Pro Umpire School Graduate and Umpire, Football Official & Basketball Referee |
Q: | Should the top of the shin guard be taller than the knee when bent? Seems to catch the plate pants on every squat? 6-3 bought the 18.5", feel good on but the length seems to catch the plate pants tops? No 17.5"? – Donald Dugas |
A: | Shin guards should cover your knee. With the extra padding on the inside creating more of a space between the top of the guard and your knee, some umpires have found that these shin guards "eat" the pants when coming up out of a squat. You may find that the 16.5 match up better to your leg and reduce this space. These shin guards are manufactured in 14.5, 16.5, and 18.5. – Ty UnthankMarketing Specialist, HS & College Umpire |
Q: | About the bottom extensions over the inside and outside of the ankle -- do they slip comfortably inside the ankle of high-top plate shoes? – Curtis Lewis |
A: | These Force3 umpire shin guards are not designed for the ankle protection to fit inside of your plate shoes. An ideal fit has the bottom of the shin guard meeting the top of your plate shoes with no gap or overlap. See the Fitting Room for sizing tips to determine the size that will work best for you. – Staff MemberUmp-Attire.com Customer Service |
Q: | If I'm 17.5" from top of shoe to middle of kneecap, would you recommend the 16.5" or 18.5", or another brand altogether that makes a 17.5"? – Aaron Rossin |
A: | When you find umpire shin guards you like, but are between sizes - while you could search for a more closer size in a different shin guard - sizing up is perfectly fine. This will ensure there is no gap in protection, and you, at 17.5” will not notice the additional inch of the 18.5” size (you may actually prefer it). There is more detailed sizing information in the "Fitting Room.” – Jim KirkPresident |
Q: | Does the Force 3 come with toe extensions or can we order additionally? – Christina Coluccio |
A: | I'm sorry Christina, but these shin guards do not come with toe extentions. There is no way to attach toe extentions without modications to the shin guards. Rather than toe extentions, plate shoes are recommended for optimal protection behind the plate. – Josh MannPro School Umpire Graduate |
Q: | I would like to order the Shin Guards but not sure what size to order - I am 6 feet tall. – Terence Shoebridge |
A: | Measure your leg from center of your kneecap down to where the shin guards will rest on your plate shoes. This will result in your shin guard size. More details can be found in the "Fitting Room". – Josh MannPro School Umpire Graduate |
