Description

After a significant number of requests for a tapered base pant, Smitty delivered. These charcoal grey pleated base pants with expander waistband are ultra-tapered and have a shorter rise for the fittest look in the market and on the field.

The fabric on these pants are a unique "textured" poly spandex fabric, not solid. Despite the different fabric, they will match traditional polyester style charcoal grey pant fabric color.

BASE PANT FEATURES

Ultra-tapered cut is narrower at the knee and bottom
Shorter rise than traditional umpire pants
State-of-the-art 88% polyester and 12% spandex fabric is lightweight, moisture-wicking and is water and wrinkle-resistant
Pleated front with standard slash-style pockets
1.5" elastic expander waistband on each side, allowing for up to 3" expansion
COLOR: Charcoal grey (matches traditional polyester rather than solid poly spandex)

Upgraded brass zipper will hold up better than plastic zippers
Detailed matching grey pocket lining and grey back button with a loop on left pocket

I thought I’d try these because I thought they didn’t have an expander waistband which I’m not a big fan of. They do have it. That’s my fault for not reading the whole description. However, I didn’t find the color of these pants to be very close to the poly spandex charcoal grey at all. They almost look like tweed. I returned them and ordered the poly spandex tapered pants.

I had to return these, the fit just didn’t work for me. I’m fairly lean and fit, some would say my legs are too skinny but these looked way too tight on my legs. I almost felt like I was wearing skinny jeans, which I wouldn’t wear either. Return process was easy and I’ll just buy a non tapered pair when I get the credit back.

Love the tapered option. The “texture” is basically the heathered look in a charcoal color. Other issue is I didn’t realize it was expandable waist, which adds bulk. Both tapered pants only available in expandable waist.
