Smitty Charcoal Grey Combo Umpire Pants with Expander Waistband

Very comfortable and stylish. Love the expandable waistband. Make sure your tailor measures them when hemming. I told mine to put the inseam at 32". Because of the low crotch, they drug the ground my first game. I had to get them re-hemmed.

Good quality, stands up well to frequent use and many times in the washer and dryer. Good looking and comfortable, and I'll never get another pair of umpire pants without the expandable waistband.

First-year umpire here. These pants give a great, comfortable fit and the expandable waistband is perfect for people like me needing in between sizes.

Super comfortable umpire pants. Nothing bad to say about the quality and comfort of the pants thus far. The only drawback is the inseam being insanely long. I guess that's for 1 size fits all but being 5ft 10", my wife had to hem these to take off about a foot of fabric. This was already noted on the item description so that's not really a major deal, just annoying.

It's these or my poly/wools. I love these older, charcoal designed ones, since they are more breathable, than the updated ones with spandex. I call those scuba pants, since they don't breathe as well as these.

For the price, you can't beat these umpire pants. I have the Smitty Poly-Spandex version, a couple pairs of Gerry Davis, but I keep coming back to these. The only down side is if you work a lot, the color will fade. The price is right. I would buy two pairs, and alternate between them. They will look great for a long time. Great choice if you're just starting out.

These umpire pants are great. Fits well when suited up and very easy to move around it while working the bases too.

I have to admit, I have been skeptical about these "amazing" pants. Not anymore!!! These are such comfortable, light, easy to move in, easy to stay looking sharp pants. Wish I had made the jump earlier, but won't make the mistake again. Great product, great Ump-Attire.com service!

Great product! These are my favorite umpire pants to date.

The pants are excellent and very comfortable, as well as being very resistant. It is lightweight and of very good quality and hard fabric, it is very comfortable for home and base, it is not necessary to have the basic pants or the plate pants if you have the base and plate combo pants.

I have 4 pairs. All have held up very well. I use base pants for bases and combo pants for the plate. I don't like the super baggy wide leg look of the plate pants but that's just my opinion.

This is the first pair of Smitty brand pants that I've tried and I will definitely purchase again. Cheaper than other options available but comparable quality!

Quality is top notch...these umpire combo pants seem more of a plate pants fit so order a size or even two down if you like a more trim look.

They cost less than my last pair and look and feel better. So good I had to order a second pair.

Being a new umpire I chose the combo umpire pants to try to keep my cost down. The Smitty Combo Pants with expandable waist fit well and being between sizes do the job well.

I like the Smitty umpire pants because of the expander waist band and the pants don't fade as quick as other brands do and they look new through the entire season into the next season.

Fantastic cloth. The expandable waistband keeps me comfortable behind the plate all day. Wash and dry, no ironing needed. Very impressed with Ump-Attire.com's customer service. My husband has umpired for a decade and these pants are his favorite. The only downside is he does always have to get them hemmed to the proper length. I would still recommend these for plate or field!!

Great umpire pants. Very comfortable.

Very comfortable. They come with what seems like 3 feet of extra fabric, so a seamstress is a must. Lightweight and they do not get "stuck" in my gear. The zipper keeps falling down on my pair. To be honest, they seem more like plate pants with the way they are cut as opposed to being combo. That's fine for me so I have plenty of room for my shins.

Best umpire pants I have. The last pair I used for 5 years all spring and summer only replaced them because the color faded too much after 5 year's.

If you're between 40 or 42 on waist, select 40. Truly expandable waistband. Lightweight material for hotter weather. Get Poly-Wool for cooler weather.

Disappointed in my most recent pairs of pants. One pair had a zipper bust the other had a fastener on the waist bust. Very comfortable pants, but quality seems to be going down.

Good fit and good price. Easy to clean in regular machine. They will work for you all season. I buy two new pair at first of year and one more just before summer games start.

These are decent pants for the price. However, they do fade after just a few washings. Also, the stretch fit waistband is kind of a pain to deal with. If you want pants that don't fade go with Gerry Davis. If you want pants that have a working adjustable waistband then go with Honigs.

Bought my first pair a few weeks ago to try them out. Very comfortable pants, allows for movement and for long hours of doing games. Liked them so much that I bought a second pair. While you may spend more money for these, in my opinion they are certainly well worth the price because of the comfort and reliability. First pair of umpire pants I bought and I like them. Buying the combo pants turned out to be a good buy. I went one size up for the loose fit feel around the butt area. Can't go wrong buying these pants.

Spend the extra $15 and get the Honig's pants that don't fade and are actually charcoal grey. They say they're dry clean only, but you can get away with machine washing "delicate" in cold water and immediately hang drying.

These pants get the job done for a good price. I have had these pants rip while making a call at second base. They also seem to fade quickly.

Nice pant. Fits well and very comfortable in the heat of August. You will need a base layer for early spring games. The only complaint I have is that they fade quickly. If color matters, one season is all you may get out of them.

These are very comfortable pants. The expandable waistline band is especially helpful, give the propensity some of us have to gain/lose weight! The waistband is always snug, but not choking. I highly recommend the combo as it eliminates the need for 2 pairs of slacks.

I have been using Smitty pants for the last several years. The only knock I have ever heard is they don't match Davis pants. That is exactly why I bought them. Davis pants are the ugliest thing I have in baseball pants since the POS green pants years ago

Very good pants for working a lot of games. Machine wash. My only complaint I had was the placement and number of belt loops. I had my tailor sow an extra belt loop in the back.

I wore the Smitty Charcoal Grey Combo Umpire pants the entire 2010 season for high school and youth league. So far, they have held up well. Overall, good choice for price and quality. The expandable waist is a big plus when layering up for cold weather.

The pants fit great. Very comfortable and great looking. I have worn them one season. The only negative is they faded after one season. I would buy again for the comfort and the flex-fit waistband.
